About Us
Let me introduce myself. My name is
Tamara Hough. I live in Northern California with my son
and my
Boston Terriers. I started out breeding
Long-coated Chihuahuas in 1990. A few years later, I was
introduced to Japanese Chins, and started showing them in 1997. It was a great starter breed for me and it introduced me to the
show aspect of breeding. I took a break after 10 years, and
thought I would not show or breed again. In 2001, my boyfriend
and I decided to get a family pet. We got a Boston Terrier named
"Tori". After falling in love with breed, the show bug hit once
again. Tori was not of quality to breed, so I looked for my
first show Boston. I bought "Latte" in 2003. She didn't turn out
for the show ring, but we bred her and she produced one
Champion. The rest is history.....
Currently, I'm actively showing and breeding Boston Terriers - a Breed I love and enjoy having as my
companions. I have usually between 1-3 litters a year, hoping
for my next show puppy. My household has on average 5-7 dogs
running through at all times. My dogs are house dogs, not
kennels dogs. Puppies are raised in my living room and are in
the middle of all the action, creating a well-adjusted puppy.
I've been a Dog Groomer since 2001. This has been a great
advantage to training and socializing puppies for show or for a
wonderful pet home. My dogs get to come to work with me everyday
so I can work with them on a one on one basis - nobody gets
ignored.
My goal as a dedicated breeder is to
produce healthy, happy , sound, well-adjusted, bred to the
standard dogs. They should be square and balanced, with a
beautiful intelligent soft expression. Health & temperament are
two of the most important aspects to breeding quality dogs. All
my dogs MUST pass their health tests, a full vet exam, and an
evaluation of temperament before breeding. I do not take
breeding lightly! My dogs are my passion and doing my favorite
breeds justice is my top-priority.
